Last night I watched a movie that I find myself still thinking about it a day later. Shot Caller. Two compelling aspects of this movie. One, the device used of non-linear storytelling. Second, is the metamorphosis of the main character who has a drastic Dr Jekyll / Mr Hyde while maintaining who he really is throughout. Let me get right to the point. I think the aliens won. This is a great movie. Everyone is comparing it to Groundhogs Day because of the time loop, but it also reminded me of the book Ender’s Game. If you have seen Hugo and haven’t seen the documentary The Extraordinary Voyage, then you are missing out. The version I saw had the colorized copy of A Trip to the Moon play before the documentary started, which was a real treat.
